About: Formed in 1970, Citizens for a Better Granby is a community based, not-for-profit organization whose goal is to inform and educate Granby residents on issues affecting the Town of Granby, Connecticut. Its monthly newspaper, the Granby Drummer, provides an independent platform to encourage participation in the civic, social, economic and cultural life of Granby.

About: Granby's Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) is a group of volunteer Granby residents organized under Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) guidelines. Volunteers train regularly and provide assistance at emergencies and community events.

About: The Friends of the Granby Public Libraries (FOGPL) is dedicated to the promotion of Granby's Libraries by supporting Library events/programs, equipment purchases, museum passes and additions to the collection. Granby Horse Council

The GHC was founded in 1979 and incorporated in 1980. The GHC is a non-for-profit 501(c)(7) club whose purpose is to protect and promote the rights of horses, other equines, and horse enthusiasts in Granby, CT. GHC supports educational and charitable initiatives, and sponsors activities throughout Granby.

Granby Land Trust

Founded in 1972, the Granby Land Trust preserves Granby's natural heritage through the conservation of its scenic and historic vistas, open space corridors, wildlife habitat, ecologically sensitive areas, and agricultural land. Through strategic land acquisition, responsible land stewardship, public education, & advocacy for environmentalism and conservation.

Granby Lions Club


Since 1953 the Granby Lions Club has served and supported the Granby community. Our membership of 50 men and women truly live the Lion motto, “We Serve.”
You can see examples of our presence in the town in many ways: the gazebo on the town green, an information kiosk at the Holcomb Farm Tree Trail, flags decorating the center of town, or the pavilion and restrooms at Salmon Brook Park. We also support the Granby Social Services Department, the Granby Food Bank, Waste Not-Want Not, and numerous other organizations in town.

Granby Wildflower Meadow

The Friends of Granby Wildflower Meadow is a non-profit organization maintaining the town-owned 4.5 acre plot of land at 175 Salmon Brook Road. The Granby Youth Lacrosse program both boys and girls lacrosse across the Granby, East Granby, Hartland, and Bloomfield communities. We foster skill development, fun, and love of the game. GYL follows the USA Lacrosse development model and age groupings.

Lost Acres Volunteer Fire Department (LAFD)

The basic mission of the LAFD is to protect the life and property of the residents of Granby. Each year the volunteer members of the department spend countless hours in training ranging from the standard firefighting to hazardous materials and various types of rescue, such as vehicle and rope rescue. In addition to providing local fire service, the LAFD is also active in the regional fire efforts. The LAFD participates in fire task forces which combine resources from neighboring towns that can be used to assist other local departments with incidents anywhere in the state. We are always looking for new, motivated individuals that want to help their neighbors!

Lost Acres Fire Department (LAFD) Auxiliary

Founded in 1946, the Lost Acres Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary has grown to provide vital support to the LAFD. Their mission includes assisting the department as requested, supporting firefighters and their families during difficult times, and helping the Granby community during disasters and special situations.

Marquis of Granby Jr. Ancient Fyfe and Drum Corps

The Marquis of Granby Ancient Fyfe and Drum Corps is an all youth corps composed of young men and women between the ages of 9 and 21. The Marquis is a historical recreation of a military unit of the 18th century, and has maintained historic accuracy with few exceptions.

Scouting America

Scouting in Granby, CT consists of Cub Scout Pack 325 and Scouts BSA Troop 125, serving youth age 5-18, that develop character, citizenship, fitness, and leadership skills. Scouting America & the Connecticut Rivers Council mission is to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout oath and law.

The Salmon Brook Historical Society's mission is to preserve, protect, and promote the history of Granby, Connecticut for current and future generations. Celebrating service to humanity since 1947. The Club is a global network of community volunteers. They provide scholarships and lead community projects like the Rotary Boundless Playground on Iron Horse Boulevard in Simsbury, and participate in many community enriching activities throughout the year.

Since its inception in 2003, the Granby Chapter has contributed to many local charities, awarded scholarships to GMHS seniors of Italian ancestry and assisted families in the community. We also teach Italian Heritage,  serve Italian cuisine, and plan fundraisers
