The Connecticut Siting Council has completed evidentiary and public hearings with Granby and the greater community regarding a petition from Key Capture Energy for the proposed construction, maintenance, and operation of a 4.99-megawatt AC battery energy storage facility located at 100 Salmon Brook Street, Granby, Connecticut.
On Thursday, January 9, 2025, the Siting Council met and took a straw (informal) vote on their decision regarding the proposed KCE battery facility.
Granby First Selectman Mark Fiorentino will be holding a press conference on Friday, January 17, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. in the Granby Town Hall Meeting Room to address the impacts of the battery storage facility to public safety and the impacts to the environment, in particular the underlying aquifer this site sits on.
